Our liquid vitamin D has been formulated without additives and dissolved in extra virgin olive oil to ensure optimal absorption and excellent digestive tolerance. Its adjustable dosage by drops (1 drop = 100 IU) allows the dose to be easily adapted to each stage of growth and individual needs. Can vitamin D cause discomfort in newborns?

If a baby refuses it or shows changes immediately after taking it (crying, digestive discomfort, or constipation), they are most likely reacting to the base oil (EVOO in this case, which is very rare). It is not dangerous, but it is important to observe, stop for a few days, and consult with your healthcare professional. In these cases, the ideal approach is:

1) Reduce the dose and mix the drops with milk to improve tolerance.

2) Stop and see your pediatrician if there is constipation or vomiting.

Can supplementation be avoided in babies if the mother takes supplements?

In these cases, yes, a valid alternative to supplementing newborn babies is for breastfeeding mothers to take a minimum of 6400 IU/day of vitamin D. Once breastfeeding stops, it will be necessary to supplement the child.

Why do you use olive oil in the formula?
