#30 – Living gets old but it shouldn't make you sick

Rocío Périz with Néstor Sánchez

Today we speak with Néstor Sánchez, one of the leaders in Spain in the study of autophagy and anti-aging medicine, as well as author of the book Intermittent Fasting. In addition to being the founder of Regenera, a clinic for training and treating patients from clinical Psychoneuroimmunology, and co-founder of Mammoth Hunters, he is an eternal researcher who shines as a speaker and disseminator on social networks thanks to his ability to explain complex concepts in a very simple.

We talk about:

  • Aging: causes that make us age and whether we can influence them to slow them down.
  • Is aging just another disease? Does it have a cure?
  • Autophagy: what it consists of and what role it plays in aging. Strategies to enhance it.
  • Daily fasting of 12 hours vs. prolonged fasts of 48 to 72 hours.
  • Efficacy of drugs, such as metformin, in boosting autophagy.
